A number of BBC Strictly fans’ patience appears to have run out with Vito Coppola’ following an interview he took part in with It Takes Two host Fleur East on Monday.

Coppola, 32, is partnered with Miranda star Sarah Hadland, 53, and together they’re preparing to take on the popular dance show’s iconic Blackpool Week.

On last week’s show, the pair finished a disappointing sixth place on the leaderboard after their American Smooth, danced to Proud by Heather Small, divided opinion among judges.

Fans jumped to their defence, claiming biased judging had marked them unfairly.

However, some viewers were left than impressed by Coppola when he appeared alongside Hadland on It Takes Two.

As the pair debriefed about Saturday’s performance, Coppola found himself often cutting into Hadland’s answers and as they looked ahead to Blackpool, the Italian pro struggled to control his animated excitement.

As the interview opened, Coppola laboured the pun that he was “proud” of Hadland, in reference to their routine’s backing song.

Even after the joke was initially well received, the Italian continued to repeat it and ask if It Takes Two host East “got it.”

Later, the 32-year-old spoke at length about his approach to the judges’ feedback and choreography as Hadland struggled to get a word in.

Finally concluding, Coppola bellowed: “If there is one step that has been criticised in the past… I don’t try to avoid, I put it back in!”

Before long, viewers flocked to X to express their annoyance at Coppola’s conduct, with one complaining on X: “Vito just needs to shut up. It’s no longer cute just annoying.”

“OMG, am I alone in finding Vito too much this year?” another asked before a third fan echoed: “Vito is so annoying”

“FFS trying to get Vito to describe anything in 3 words is a tough ask Fleur,” a fourth viewer raged.

However, some fans found the 32-year-old’s antics charming, with one person arguing: “I love Sarah calming Vito down like he’s an excitable puppy. Their partnership is brilliant.

“Sarah and Vito on it takes two makes my week they are hilarious,” another declared before a third joked: “I love Sarah and Vito so much. They are helium balloons disguised as humans.”

Coppola and Hadland will dance a Couple’s Choice routine to Padam Padam by Kylie Minogue in the legendary Blackpool ballroom this Saturday.

Hadland shared her excitement for the dance, telling East she was “so ready” to perform a song from “the pop princess, the Queen of the Banger.”

Coppola promised a routine that was “very classy but at the same time very detailed and very sassy.”

While her dance partner continued to enthuse, Hadland interrupted to promise their Blackpool Week number would be “sizzling”.
