Davina McCall shared some huge health news last week as she revealed she had been diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The presenter was taken into surgery on Friday to remove the tumour, which she has announced was benign.
In a moving conversation, the 57-year-old detailed the message she planned to voice in the moments before her operation during a conversation with her partner Michael Douglas.
Former Big Brother presenter McCall revealed her final words before being put to sleep for the procedure would be an uplifting message of love.
Two days before her surgery, she shared in the latest episode of Making the Cut podcast, recorded with Douglas: “Do you know what I’m going to do?
“As they’re putting me under – which is such a nice feeling by the way – I’m going to set an intention. I’m going to say, ‘Love, love, love, all the way.'”
Taking to social media on Friday, McCall shared a message she’d recorded previously, set to go public when she was in surgery.
She explained: “Hi, so I’m posting this it will be Friday morning.
“I’m posting it because a few months ago I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace, but it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare.
“Three in a million! So I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, and then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons, I got lots of opinions.
“I realised that I have to get it taken out. It’s big for the space – it fills the space. It’s 14mm wide. And it needs to come out because if it grows it would be bad.”
McCall’s partner Michael Douglas also appeared in the video, offering reassurance to fans.
“Just letting people know that I will have my eye on her throughout this procedure!” he vowed.
The 48-year-old, who has been with McCall since 2019, joked: “In fact I offered to do the operation, just to make sure it was done properly! They wouldn’t let me. She’s in very good hands.”
“Also, I’m okay. It’s been up and down, obviously. We’ve been through a lot,” McCall added.
Douglas quipped: “But the important thing is her parting has stayed in the same place. My job will be safe.”
The former Big Brother presenter went on to explain she will be in hospital for some time, adding: “The recovery, I’m going to be in hospital for about nine days, and then I’m going to be going home, but I’m gonna be off my phone for a while. So Michael might fill you in.”
