Sir Rod Stewart, 79, will headline the Glastonbury Legends stage next year, the iconic rocker has confirmed.

He declared he is “more than able to pleasure and titillate” as he gets ready to become one of the oldest performers to headline the legendary British music festival.

The 79-year-old explained he is “proud and ready” to amaze fans in an Instagram post announcing the planned performance.

The music legend explained he was: “Absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing @glastofest 2025!”

Glastonbury will run between June 25-29 next year, with tickets for the iconic music festival selling out in moments.

Fans were overjoyed to hear the news as Stewart had only recently announced the sad news he would be scaling back his performances earlier this month.

“This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me” the Maggie May hit maker revealed in an Instagram post earlier this month.

“I have no desire to retire,” Stewart declared despite the announcement. “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.

“I’d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next – smaller venues and more intimacy.

“But then again, I may not…” the iconic rocker signed off: “The Ambiguous Sir Rod Stewart”.

An outpouring of joy quickly followed Stewart’s Glastonbury announcement, with one fan branding it the “best news ever”.

“Great news Sir Rod cannot wait xx,” another responded before a third declared: “ROD THE GOD.”

The enthusiasm of fans was only dampened by the availability of tickets to the Somerset music festival.

“Even more gutted I didn’t get tickets now! Congratulations, it’ll be brilliant,” one fan said.

Another questioned: “I am gutted, how can I sneak in? Or how much begging do I need to do to get in? but big big congratulations!”

“Gutted I didn’t get Glastonbury tickets now!!,” a third reacted. (sic)
