A British ticket-holder has won a £177million EuroMillions jackpot in Tuesday’s draw, the National Lottery has said.

The staggering win’s numbers are: 07, 11, 25, 31, 40, while the Lucky Stars are 09 and 12.

Tuesday night’s new millionaire holds the ticket number TRLJ40528 – and National Lottery owners Allwyn have reacted with incredulity to the news.

Andy Carter, senior winners adviser at Allwyn, said: “Wow, it has been a truly incredible night for a single UK ticket-holder who has scooped tonight’s jaw-dropping £177 million EuroMillions jackpot.

“The win has landed them a spot on The National Lottery’s Rich List, as they have become the third-biggest National Lottery winner of all time.

“What a wonderful win right before Christmas, and we cannot wait to pay out this amazing prize.

“Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are tonight’s lucky winner,” he said.

The winner will be wealthier than former One Direction member Harry Styles and heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua when they take home their prize.

The celebrity pair are both worth some £175 million, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List.

But despite the mega windfall, the nine-figure sum still isn’t enough to set records.

On July 19, 2022, an anonymous UK ticket-holder scooped the record EuroMillions jackpot of £195 million – the largest National Lottery win of all time.

Meanwhile, tonight’s winner sits just behind Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester, who scooped a then-record £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket for a draw on May 10, 2022.
